MANILA, Philippines — Runnr Club solidified its reputation as the fastest running club in the metro after ruling a relay challenge in Bonifacio Global City last Saturday, February 7.
The tandem of Christine Guergio and Mark Nicolas posted a winning time of 1:13.73 in the final round, besting seven other running clubs from across Metro Manila to top the 2×200-meter relay challenge.
Rockwell Just Show Up was six seconds behind and finished second with a time of 1:19.14, while Zeru Multisport secured third place at 1:20.18.
Nicolas, a Palarong Pambansa gold medalist, set the tone with a blistering 32.87-second opening leg before handing the baton to UAAP multi-medalist Guergio, who sealed the win with a strong 40.85-second anchor.
Also competing in the Hoka Speed of Light Challenge were OLOS Running Community, District 2 Running Crew, Hoka Run Club, Run With Pat and Pogi Run Club, which featured mixed teams composed of one male and one female runner.
All participants competed on equal footing, racing in Hoka’s lightest super shoe to date, the Hoka Cielo X1 3.0.
Podium finishers took home prizes from Runnr and Shokz, along with the distinction of being crowned the fastest running club in the metro. Winners also received the Cielo X1 3.0, which boasts a propulsive carbon plate, precision-tuned geometry, and responsive PEBA Superfoam designed for high-energy rebound and lasting comfort. — Contributed story/AJ Bolando
