Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio met with presidential aspirant and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. in Cebu City on Saturday morning.
“Confirmed po na nagkita kami ngayon ni Presidential aspirant at former Senator BBM sa masayang pagdiriwang ng birthday ni Cong. Yedda, maybahay ni House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez sa Cebu,” she wrote in a social media post.
Prior to their meeting, the President’s daughter also met Sen. Imee Marcos. Duterte-Carpio thanked her for her visit and “constant support.”
Imee Marcos had dubbed their possible tandem as a “marriage made in heaven.”
Both Duterte-Carpio and Marcos flew to Cebu City on Friday.
While Duterte-Carpio has yet to disclose the purpose of her visit to the city, Marcos led the inauguration of his campaign headquarters.
The two were being urged by their allies to partner for next year’s polls, believing that their tandem would unify votes from the North and the South.
Duterte-Carpio had just recovered from Covid-19. She tested positive for the disease days after she filed her certificate of candidacy for reelection.
To date, Marcos has yet to name his running mate and finalize his senatorial slate.
