Shelter Movers’ A Moving Affair Gala, presented by the Bisson family, brought together more than 350 guests at the Ritz-Carlton on Nov. 7, in a show of solidarity against gender-based violence in Canada. The event raised more than $650,000 to fund free, trauma-informed moving and storage services for survivors and their children — support that will help hundreds of families move toward safety, stability and hope. With inspiring remarks from keynote speaker Paulo Leone and the generosity of sponsors, donors and volunteers, the evening demonstrated the impact of a community united to help break cycles of abuse.
