Enter into the flow state and keep running for miles with Under Armour’s UA Flow Velociti Wind.
Inspired by its runner athletes, the Under Armour (UA) team sought to create a lightweight yet supportive shoe that’s built for speed and breaking barriers.
After three years, over 17 rounds of raw material testing, nine rounds of biomechanical testing, 15 rounds of shoe testing and over 11,000 miles of wear testing, it introduces the UA Velociti Wind (at P7,995), the latest chapter in running shoe innovation with a disruptive design and all-in-one cushioning system that eliminates the rubber outsole. Designed for speed over longer distances, it puts the wind at your back with every stride.
One of the most important features of the UA Flow Velociti Wind is the UA Flow midsole. Developed by Under Armour’s Footwear Innovation Team in Portland, Oregon, to bring a completely new footwear experience by focusing on a simple idea of removing the heaviest part of the shoe — the rubber outsole to create a shoe built for speed and breaking barriers.
The UA Flow is a responsive, grippy and supportive singular-foam compound that provides comfort, flexibility and traction with every step. This makes the UA Flow Velociti Wind a
high-performance running shoe offering designed and meticulously engineered for speed over longer distances.
The UA Flow Velociti Wind also features the UA Warp, an upper material that molds perfectly to the human form to unlock maximum performance. With supporting tapes that act like seatbelts on foot, the UA Warp upper locks you onto the UA Flow midsole without disrupting the natural movement while running.

Built for ‘Metaspeed’
Asics has come out with not one but two high-performance running shoes that take the power of human-centric design to the next level.
In an industry first, Metaspeed Sky and Metaspeed Edge have each been scientifically designed with a distinct type of running style in mind. The new racing shoes help elite athletes to reach the top of their game, because they don’t have to adjust their running style to fit the shoe anymore; instead, Asics is giving them high-performance shoes that support their running style.
The shoes were unveiled at Asics’ Innovation Summit 2021 — the brand’s annual showcase of the very pinnacle of new performance sportswear. This year, Asics hosted its first ever, fully personalized experience, taking guests on an interactive virtual reality journey through the past, present and future of the Asics story and its longstanding commitment to human-centric design. The experience culminated in the grand reveal of its ground-breaking Metaspeed innovation.
The unique design story behind the two new shoes centers on a crucial insight by scientists at the Asics Institute of Sport Science (ISS). They recognized that the type of shoes powering the world’s fastest were only favoring one type of runner — Stride runners, or those with a long-loping gait with large periods spent airborne who increase their speed by extending their stride length.
Asics research showed that these shoes do not fully support elite athletes who prefer the second major running style — Cadence, which features smaller steps made while hovering over the ground with minimal up and down motion.
Sports scientists at the ISS were able to measure that athletes perform better when running in shoes that are optimized for their running style. Addressing the challenge, Asics has created the Metaspeed Sky for Stride runners and Metaspeed Edge for those with a Cadence style — both specially optimized and proven to improve runner performance for each of the two major running styles.
Metaspeed Sky will be available this April at Asics Bonifacio Highstreet. The Metaspeed Edge will be available from 4 June 2021. Both shoes will retail for P13,890.
