Showbiz editors’ group celebrate 6th year with twin outreach

“Love cannot remain by itself — it has no meaning. Love has to be put into action and that action is service.” – Mother Teresa.

For a more meaningful celebration of the 6th anniversary of the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), the group organized two outreach activities on July 7.

Led by its president Eugene Asis (“People's Journal”), the officers and members visited two charitable institutions in Bulacan, where they held simple gift-giving ceremonies.

The first institution was the Bethany House Sto. Niño Orphanage in Guiguinto, which sees to the safety and well-being of some 30 children who no longer have parents or relatives to care for them.

Headed by Sister Emelita, the children are also schooled in the orphanage and are always grateful for any assistance that comes their way.

SPEEd then visited Emmaus House of Apostolate in Malolos, where 60 elderly individuals reside and are cared for.

In addition to financial assistance, the group provided food and medical supplies, cleaning materials, vitamins, adult diapers, toiletries and other items that the children and elderly can use for their daily needs.

Rei Anicoche-Tan of Beautederm and BlancPro, Cris Roque of Kamiseta, Unilab Corporation and Pascual Laboratories partnered with SPEEd as always for this meaningful project.
