For a non-baker, to make crepes and crème brulee seems unnecessary especially when there are luscious ones available at the nearest pastry shops.
But for people during the pandemic holidays, making these desserts is a tasty way to pass the time and learn a new recipe in time for Christmas.
The cardinal rule in cooking is to prepare everything in advance. In pastry-making, however, streamlining the preparation stage will dictate the success of your desserts.
If you are a newbie in baking, taking classes is a great start to learn things the right way. One option is the Online Culinary Experience offered by Ècole Ducasse Manila and Enderun Colleges.

At their recent class for Crepes and Crème Brulee, the enrollees received a complete package with measured ingredients which made everything easier.
A digital primer was also provided with the complete recipes and step-by-step video taught by executive pastry chef Laetitia Moreau of Ècole Ducasse Manila Campus.
Do’s and don’ts
The class will provide everything aside from the equipment, so ensure that you have a well-functioning oven and containers.

For instance, a good crème brulee will also rely on its container. Ramekins are highly encouraged to be used because of the slow-cooking process. If you use containers with deeper bottoms, the cooking time will be longer that will result to the uneven baking of the crème brulee.
When cooking the crepe mixture, it is important to use a non-stick pan.
Apart from the equipment, it is important to carefully read the recipe.
It’s okay to enjoy but never get too excited, because a good crepe and crème brulee, or any kind of dish, requires patience.
