MAYBANK has raised its outlook for the peso as US tariff threats are taking longer to materialize. It now expects the currency to be relatively stable at P58 against the dollar this year instead of falling to new all-time lows beyond the current record of P59 to the greenback.
“We revise our USDPHP forecast on the basis that the materialization of tariff threats may take a little longer,” Maybank Securities Philippines research head Kervin Laurence Sisayan told The Manila Times.
