TFAC launches video campaign vs corruption

Task Force Against Corruption

The Task Force Against Corruption (TFAC) has launched video campaign to boost the government’s fight against corruption, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Wednesday, March 2.

“The campaign aims to eliminate the seeds of corruption that grow into massive forms of corruption which inevitably destroy the moral fiber and future of society,” reads the statement of the DOJ which leads the TFAC.

“The campaign also calls upon the public to have the courage to call out all forms of corruption,” it said.

The DOJ also said “the campaign points out that people have become desensitized to small forms of corruption making it possible for these dishonest individuals to get away with their illegal acts.”

“It also emphasizes that the amount of money pocketed by unscrupulous individuals, regardless of the amount, for so long as the money appropriated by a person for himself is not his, the act constitutes corruption,” the DOJ added.

So far, the TFAC has released four video ads.

In each of the video ads, Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra declared:

“Maliit man o malaki, ang korapsyon ay korapsyon. Kapag hinayaan, sisirain nito ang kinabukasan ng bayan (Whether big or small, corruption is still corruption. If left unchecked, it will destroy the future of the nation).

“Kaya maglakas-loob sumigaw ng ‘Hindi sa’yo yan!” (So have the courage to shout, ‘That is not yours!’).”

The TFAC was created by President Duterte in Oct. 2020. The President directed the DOJ to investigate allegations of corruption in the entire government.
