Thirdy Ravena Japan B. League documentary soon to be steamed
MANILA, Philippines – Thirdy Ravena, the first Filipino to play in the Japan B. League, will have his own documentary titled “Local Hero: Thirdy Ravena.”
The show, produced by Empower Asia by Gatsby, will be streamed soon at VivaMax Philippines, the country’s biggest digital content library of Filipino movies, TV series and documentaries.
“This is about sa pinagdaanan ko sa Japan, on and off the court,” said Ravena in an online briefing yesterday. “We always think about creating an impact to the younger generation na kung saan man ako ngayon, kaya natin as long as dedicated at magtiwala sa sarili.”
Ravena was the trailblazer for Filipino basketball players currently plying their trade in Japan as he suited up for San-en NeoPhoenix starting last year.
It opened the door for other Filipinos including Ravena’s elder brother Kiefer, Kobe Paras and Bobby Ray Parks, Jr.
And Ravena hopes there would be more.
“The Philippines is for the world. Marami tayo kayang gawin, we can do great in a lot of things,” he said.
