GRUYERES, Switzerland – Besides the Alps, chocolates, cows and fondue, Switzerland teems with many churches to fill the “pray” part of every “eat, pray, love” itinerary.
Apart from its world-famous cheese, Gruyeres is known for its hilltop Medieval town, Saint-Germain Castle, a Unesco World Heritage site.
Inside the castle complex is Chapelle À Calvaire (Calvary Chapel).
Although the chapel now functions as a multipurpose hall for art exhibits and other seasonal events, it still bears church icons from the Medieval times.
