MANILA, Philippines – You’ve probably seen VIVAIA pop up on your Facebook ads or Instagram feed, browsed through its collection, and maybe even left a pair (or two) sitting in your cart.
There’s no need for analysis paralysis anymore because the globally-renowned, sustainable footwear brand has officially landed in the Philippines, allowing you to buy and shoe off your new pair in person!
VIVAIA Philippines’ first pop-up store in Metro Manila opened on Sunday, January 5, at Level R2 Bridgeway, Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati City, running until March 31, 2025.
Your sole-mate from the US
Founded in the US in 2020, VIVAIA quickly gained a cult following for its simple, stylish, comfortable, and eco-friendly designs, reaching over 61 countries and regions — including South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Indonesia, Australia, and France — in just a few years.
Adding to the viral buzz was seeing VIVIAIA shoes worn by several A-list celebrities like Julia Roberts, Katie Holmes, Jenna Ortega, Scarlett Johansson, Lindsay Lohan, Alexa Chung, Selena Gomez, and Park Min-young.
Filipino fans who relied on pasabuy favors and international shipments finally get to try on VIVIAIA’s best-sellers, thanks to a local team who reached out to VIVAIA’s US office to bring the brand to the Philippines.
While the brand’s technology and research and development originate from the US, the manufacturing and shipping are done in Asia, the VIVAIA Philippines team told Rappler. They also shared that the decision to launch in Power Plant Mall was so they could cater to a more “elevated target market” comprised of the modern, everyday Filipina woman.
VIVAIA’s team shared that their goal is to make sustainable footwear accessible and wearable for everyday people — that’s why the brand curated the Philippine selection to feature versatile, neutral tones like cream, beige, black, and white, with a few bold pops of color.
One ‘step’ ahead
One thing VIVAIA is proud of is its commitment to sustainability, style, and comfort. Each pair is thoughtfully crafted using eco-friendly materials, including threads made from discarded PET bottles. The brand works with certified REPREVE® suppliers to transform these recycled materials into premium threads, which are then woven into shoes using advanced 3D knitting technology.
The result? Lightweight, durable, and breathable shoes that feel as good as they look. VIVAIA even continuously refines its insoles based on customer feedback.
Now, I understand the hype — when I tried on the Margot Mary Jane Flats in almond, it was love at first fit. The dainty shoe hugged my foot like a glove — lightweight, flexible, soft, and bouncy; it was so comfortable, it was like I wasn’t wearing shoes at all.
The adjustable strap (which doesn’t rely on pre-punched holes) adds extra convenience and a custom fit, while thoughtful details like arch support, cloud-like cushioning, and a padded back heel eliminate the dreaded breaking-in blisters.
My chosen neutral color would be easy to pair with almost anything, too.
The herbal insoles, made from a mix of Artemisia and PU foam, are moisture-wicking, mold-proof, and even help prevent foot odor (a lifesaver in the Philippines’ heat and humidity). The natural rubber outsoles contain synthetic rubber from Vietnam and renewable, biodegradable rubber, making them lightweight, flexible, and slip-resistant.
The diamond-padded insoles also distribute weight evenly, reducing pressure on your feet while providing support.
It’s shoe time!
VIVAIA’s sleek and minimalist pop-up is easy to browse through; it’s spacious but streamlined. It has sizes that range from Euro 35 to Euro 42, with most of the styles designed for women. However, there are a few unisex sneakers to check out as well.
There are foot mirrors and lengthwise mirrors for fit checks, as well as two stools for easy fitting.
Right now, you’ll find a variety of flats and loafers, like the Margot 2.0 Flats (P5,890), Tamia 2.0 Flats (P5,890), Margot Mary-Jane Flats (P5,890), Aria 5° Flats (P5,890), and the Jackie Loafers (P7,340).
They also have sneakers, sandals, and heels available, including the Urban Sneakers (P7,340), Pamela Arch Pro Sandals (P5,890), Jade Pro Heeled Sandals (P5,890), Scarlett Kitten Heels (P8,570), and Julie Pro Block Heels (P8,570).
If you’re eyeing bags, you can grab the Sofia Crossbody (P4,860) or Zahara Daily Tote (P5,890) for now, but they plan to add more to the collection soon!
The prices may be a bit steeper, especially for casual footwear, but there’s a reason VIVAIA has earned its cult following. Many VIVAIA fans I know have purchased three or four additional pairs after their first — because when the shoe fits, it’s hard not to wear it (and maybe even hoard it)!
VIVAIA’s timeless designs are also reusable for every outfit. Praised for their eco-friendly concept and their longevity, the shoes’ premium quality can be felt from the moment you slip them on. And let’s not forget: comfort reigns supreme.
While the pop-up has already seen long lines since its opening, the team shared with Rappler that they’re gearing up for more exciting launches, including the opening of the brand’s first permanent store in the Philippines later this year. The new space will feature a wider range of VIVAIA’s signature and limited-edition options for Filipino shoppers (note: the US brand has over 200 designs).
VIVAIA Philippines’ pop-up store is open daily from 11 am to 9 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 10 pm on weekends. – Rappler.com
