Orlan Wamar went perfect on the second rack en route to claiming the 3-Point Shootout crown with a 20-point total in the OKBet-Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Season 5 All-Star Weekend at the Bataan People's Center in Balanga, Bataan.

The 5-foot-6 star player of the San Juan Knights dethroned Bacolod's Dom Matillano, who fell short with 18 points, and Pasig's Robbie Manalang who scored 14.

Wamar, a prized find from Centro Escolar University, also topped the elimination round with 21 points, followed by Manalang with 19, and Matillano with 17 after drilling in his final shot and eliminating 16-pointers Jonathan Uyloan and Levi Hernandez.

CJ Gania of Pampanga, meanwhile, sailed past teammate Encho Serrano for a one-handed jam that earned a perfect 50 points in the finals to beat Bulacan's Justine Guevarra and crowd favorite Poypoy Actub of Imus in the Slam Dunk competition.

Guevarra did the same dunk as Gania but with a slight push on the shoulder of his helper and placed second with 45 points.

Actub, who topped the eliminations, flubbed his final two tries and settled for third.

Their victories were worth P30,000 each for Wamar and Gania, who got an additional P20,000 Anta gift certificate.
