A woman was injured after being robbed by a man armed with a knife on Caruncho Avenue in Pasig City on Friday night, Jan. 31, with the suspect quickly arrested by authorities.

The Eastern Police District (EPD) identified the suspect as “Angelo,” 29.
According to authorities, the victim sustained head and neck injuries when the suspect attacked her after she resisted his sudden appearance and declaration of a hold-up, during which the suspect forcibly took her mobile phone and money.
Police patrolling the area saw the commotion and approached the suspect, but upon noticing the officers, he attempted to flee, leading to a brief chase and his arrest. Recovered from him was a 9.5-inch kitchen knife, along with the victim’s belongings.
Meanwhile, Sub-Station 2 personnel coordinated with the Pasig Emergency Unit (PEU), which responded quickly and provided first aid to the victim before taking her to Rizal Medical Center for further treatment.
The acting district director of EPD, Col. Villamor Tuliao, also reminded the public to be vigilant.
“Mahigpit din po naming paalala sa ating mamamayan na maging maingat dahil sa naglipanang mga masasamang loob. Itawag o magsumbong agad sa mga Kapulisan kung kayo’y makaranas ng mga ganitong krimen sa pamamagitan ng mga Hotline Numbers na nakapost sa Eastern Police District NCRPO Facebook page o sa pinakamapalit na himpilan ng pulisya upang kayo’y mabigyan ng agarang tulong (We strongly remind the public to stay vigilant due to the presence of criminals. If you experience such crimes, immediately contact or report to the police through the Hotline Numbers posted on the Eastern Police District NCRPO Facebook page or at the nearest police station to receive prompt assistance),” he said.
“Ang inyong suporta at pakikiisa sa ating Kapulisan ang mas makatulong upang ating masolusyonan ang mga problema sa ating pamayanan (Your support and cooperation with our police force will greatly help in addressing the problems in our community),” he added.
Tuliao assured that justice will be served for the victim, who is receiving medical treatment and support for recovery, while the suspect, now in police custody, faces a charge of robbery with violence.
