Women of The Newsroom

Daily Tribune is a witness to many stories of amazing Filipinas, here and around the globe.

This time, we want to turn the spotlight on our own remarkable team of women who, for the last 21 years, have helped put the paper to bed and lead the tribe without fear, without favor.

a woman’s essence isn’t confined within the long-standing gender roles.

Women at the forefront of journalism shed light on both the dark places that need to be seen and the multiplicity of voices that need to be heard. Doing this even as they keep their households running and nurture their families, they continue to inspire the truth that a woman’s essence isn’t confined within the long-standing gender roles.

Daily Tribune has a number of women editors at the helm (Dinah Ventura, Francine Marquez, Dona Policar, Bella Cariaso, Tina Maralit) who ensure that coverages are efficient.

Our reporters, dominated by women, cover everything from politics, entertainment to sports. Born with the nose for news, this mix of young and experienced journalists is always on the lookout for the most compelling stories.

Tribune’s women photographers (Yummie Dingding, Analy Labor, Rio Deluvio), who are just as striking and unrelenting as their visuals, aren’t afraid to dive head first when in the field, always sharp with a camera on hand — ready to capture what words cannot.

Behind them are also women who further bring the words and photos to life — Tribune’s women layout artists (Marivic Clemente, Lor Bulacan, Aurora Bulan, Jas Lalog). Their perceptive insights and creativity adorn every page of the newspaper.

We salute the Women of Daily Tribune.

Delivering the paper daily wouldn’t be possible without the efforts of the women in Tribune’s administration and accounting department (Cheeney Eugenio, Abby Matnog, Jelene Galvan, Gigi Datoy, Anna Guzman, Rita Gulanes and of course, our boss Chingbee Fernandez) — who tirelessly make sure that the publication’s stories wouldn’t be gone to waste, keeping it up and running and its workers compensated.

These women and other females in the industry are proof that the drive to produce factual and informative news to the public is not limited to those of the male.

We are able to stand because of the women who paved the way before us. So, now, we stand together to do the same for the succeeding generations. We want to be symbols of hope, passion and courage to help make the world significantly better.

We salute the Women of Daily Tribune.
