According to the Provincial Health Office (PHO), Emergency Health Physician Dr. Jean Rebultan succumbed to the dreaded respiratory disease after testing positive on 25 March.

She was the first of the medical frontliners in the province to die from Covid-19.

Rebultan was one of the many doctors stationed at the President Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Hospital (PRMMH), a Covid-19 facility in this capital town.

According to the Provincial Health Office, “Ang kanyang alaala ay hindi pagtukoy sa kanyang pagkamatay bagkus ang alaala sa kanya kung paano siya noong nabubuhay na nakatuon sa pagsisilbi nya sa kapwa nya Zambaleño.”

The office added that the work of medical frontliners such as Rebultan is a valuable service to the province despite fearing for the safety of their families, they still opted to provide service for the good of humanity.

“Ang buong PHO-PRMMH ay nagdadalamhati sa pagkawala ng isang magiting na doktor sa ating probinsiya.”
