106-year-old ‘lola’ gets P100,000 cash gift from Taguig LGU

Another centenarian was given a cash gift of P100,000 by the Taguig City government.

Mayor Lani Cayetano personally visited Lola Maria Billones in Barangay Western Bicutan to greet her on her 106th birthday on Dec. 21.

During the visit, Billones received a check amounting to P100,000 from the city government through the Office for Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA).

Centenarians in Taguig receive a P100,000 cash gift upon reaching 100 years old and will continue to receive the amount every year while they are alive.

Senior citizens, on the other hand, receive P3,000 to P10,000 birthday cash gift depending on the age bracket from the city government based on Ordinance No. 25 series of 2017.

In addition, senior citizens get free medicine for illnesses such as diabetes, high blood and asthma; free nursing services in their homes; and free wheelchairs, canes and hearing aids.
