2 alleged communist group members surrender to police in Taguig

Two men, tagged by the Philippine National Police as alleged members of the communist terrorist group (CTG), surrendered in Taguig.

The two, identified by the Southern Police District (SPD) as alias Aldo, 53, and alias Rey, 30, were alleged members of the Alliance of Filipino Workers.

They surrendered to the Taguig Police Fort Bonifacio Substation 1.

The police said they facilitated the withdrawal of support of the two men from the Communist Party of the Philippines–New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).

According to the surrenderers, the police said, they actively participated in mass protests, revealing recruitment into AFW with an alleged monetary incentive of P500 per event.
