VP Duterte tells Negros Occ graders: Study hard, dream of better life

Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte advised grade school students at the La Castellana Elementary School in Negros Occidental to study hard to pursue their dreams of a better life.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Dec. 7, talked about her advice she shared with the students.

“Binisita ko rin ang ilang silid aralan at kinausap ang mga mag-aaral doon (I visited the classrooms to talk with the students there),” she said.

“Pinaaalahanan ko sila na mag-aral ng mabuti at sikaping makapagtapos ng pag-aaral dahil eto ang susi upang makahanap sila ng magandang trabaho at mabili nila ang kanilang mga gusto at pangangailangan (I reminded them to study well and finish their studies because this is the key for them to find good jobs so they can buy their wants and needs),” Duterte added.

Every time she visits schools, the Vice President said she makes it a point to emphasize the importance of education as a means to change the students’ lives and future.

The official, who holds the Education chief post in a concurrent capacity, also met with the principal and district supervisor of La Castellana Elementary School to discuss the needs of the school and the students.

In her post, she also shared photos of her recent visit to the school.

The photos showed her meeting some residents and addressing a group of learners.

She also took the time to take selfies with them, as well as an official photo with the school’s staff and personnel to commemorate her visit.
