AP.Bren stamps class vs SeeYouSoon, advances to upper bracket semis

AP.Bren stamped its class and dominated SeeYouSoon with a 3-1 victory to continue its title hunt in the M5 World Championship in the upper bracket semifinals at the EVM Convention Center on Sunday, Dec. 10.

After absorbing their first game loss in the tournament during Game 2, the MPL Philippines Season 12 champions responded with a masterful showing in the last two matches to close out the series and keep their upper bracket spots.

Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel and Kyle “Kyletzy” Sayson led the huge retaliation for AP.Bren in Game 3 with the former utilizing a surprise Odette pick and the latter delivering a clean slate on the signature Nolan pick.

Pheww and Kyletzy set the tempo in the contest with early pick-offs on SeeYouSoon’s key players. Keeping the relentless map pressure was Kyletzy who finished with a 5-0-3 line while Pheww was simply untouchable in the big team fights to also finish with a similar 5-0-3 KDA.

SeeYouSoon, led by Filipino imports Michael “MPtheKing” Endino and “Clarense “Kosey” Camillo, simply couldn’t get anything going from there as the Filipinos regained the series lead with a 13-4 win in just 11 minutes of the play.

AP.Bren kept its foot on the gas pedal in the series clinching Game 4 with the Filipinos dictating the outcome of almost every team fight. David “Flaptzy” Canon capped a series-long brilliance with a 7-4-4 line after going for crucial backline dives that targeted SeeYouSoon damage dealers.

Marco “Super Marco” Requirno on the Bruno also safely dished out the damage from the distance thanks to the protection provided by Pheww and roamer Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo to finish with an impressive 11-1-3 KDA.

It was actually AP.Bren which drew the series first blood after a 13-5 Game 1 win and could have gone for the sweep if not for a strong 11-14 comeback from SYS in the equalizing second game.
