Filipino boxer Carlo Paalam advanced to the 19th Asian Games men's boxing 57 kg quarterfinals after dispatching Munarbek Seiitbek of Kyrgyzstan on Saturday, September 30.
Paalam scored a majority decision win over Seiitbek at the HZ Gymnasium, earning a 30-27, 29-28, 29-28, 29-28, 28-29 decision from four judges.

Only one judge favored Seiitbek, giving him a 29-28 advantage.
Paalam thus moved on the cusp of securing a medal in the Asiad.
