On Dec. 13, 2023, the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC) welcomed students from Buting Elementary School for a special Hello! Japan session. The lively Grades 5 and 6 students embarked on a journey into the wonders of Japanese culture. The students got a premium pass to all things Japanese culture as they engaged in a vibrant session. From the folding art of origami to playing Japanese toys like the Kendama, the day was a blend of learning and fun.
Conducted by the Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), Hello! Japan provides educational discourse for elementary, high school, college students and private organizations. The objective of this multifaceted program is for the participants to have a deeper understanding about Japan through PowerPoint and video presentations featuring Japan’s culture, traditions, festivals, food, language, origami and many more. Active participation from those who are joining this program is encouraged to have an up-close experience on the topics being taught.
The programs are tailored to suit the particular ages of the participating school/organization.
