Cargo Movers survive Tubu’s 30-point explosion for Foxies

F2 Logistics foiled Farm Fresh’s attempt at clinching its first franchise victory with a hard-earned 28-26, 20-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-8 victory in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The Cargo Movers had to dig deep into their bag of tricks in outhustling the resilient Foxies, bouncing back from a tight fourth-set loss by dominating the deciding fifth frame.

It was F2 Logistics’ third win in five outings to tie with Akari in the middle standings, recovering from a straight-set defeat to Petro Gazz last Thursday, Nov. 2, in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Jolina Dela Cruz pumped in 25 kills to finish with 27 points for the Cargo Movers, overshadowing the career-high 30-point explosion of Trisha Tubu for the Foxies.

Ivy Lacsina also paced F2 Logistics with similar 27 points built on 21 attacks and four blocks.

Tubu kept Farm Fresh alive after unloading four of the last five points in the fourth frame that turned Farm Fresh’s 22-21 deficit to a set victory that forged a decider.

But F2 Logistics refused to be shaken in the crunch, dictating the tone with a quick 9-3 lead and never looked back.

Ara Galang also shone for the Cargo Movers with 13 points and 14 digs while skipper Aby Maraño and Majoy Baron chipped in combined 14 points.

Kate Santiago and Alyssa Bertolano scored 14 and 10 points for Farm Fresh, which plummeted deeper into the bottom standings with a 0-6 card.
