Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from Oxford County are at the scene of a crash involving a school bus south of Woodstock, Ont.

Police say all parents of children involved have already been notified

Forty children were on the school bus when it rolled over in a single vehicle crash. Paramedics said all of the injuries were minor with one student being airlifted to a London hospital.

Several children suffered minor injuries when a school bus carrying approximately 40 children rolled over south of Woodstock, Ont. Tuesday morning in a single vehicle crash on a country road.

One child was pinned beneath the bus and has since been airlifted to a London hospital, Ontario Provincial Police said. Other students were taken to Woodstock hospital to be treated for their injuries.

"We had six patients transported to area hospital with minor injuries, and one patient transported [via Ornge air ambulance] with non-life-threatening injuries," said Joe Vandermeer, the commander of operations at Oxford County Paramedic services.

The collision happened at 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Cuthbert Road and Dodge Line in the township of South-West Oxford. A yellow school bus could be seen lying on its side on a rural road.

"All of the students' parents have been notified. I just want to reassure everybody that everybody that was on that bus, all the parents have been notified," said OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk.

"I also want to take this opportunity to thank the good samaritan who came to the aid of the officers on the bus this morning. We just can't thank you enough for everything you did this morning to evacuate those children," he added.
