Choco Mucho turns back Akari for fifth straight win

Choco Mucho zoomed to its fifth straight win in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Second All-Filipino Conference after a 25-23, 25-21, 25-19 drubbing of Akari on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Philsports Arena in Pasay City.

The Flying Titans haven’t dropped a single set since losing to sister team and unbeaten Creamline Cool Smashers in their opening game.

With the victory, Choco Mucho climbed 5-1 in the standings but fell into a tight three-way tie with PLDT and Chery Tiggo for the second place.

Isa Molde and Maddie Madayag led the balanced attack for Choco Mucho with 13 points apiece.

The Flying Titans bucked a slow start and zoomed to a 2-0 set lead.

Despite some resistance from the Chargers in the sets prior, it was smooth-sailing for the Flying Titans in the final set.

Sisi Rondina contributed 11 points on 11 kills, while Kat Tolentino also had 11 markers of her own.

Dindin Manabat paced Akari with 12 points highlighted by 10 attacks as the Chargers absorbed an even 3-3 slate.
