When LVNA By Drake Dustin opened its newest home at the Shangri-La Plaza Mall, it glistened not only with the precious diamond pieces on display but the radiant celebrities who attended the exclusive event.
Touted to be its most spacious boutique to date, LVNA's trio of captivating brand ambassadors — Miss Universe-Philippines 2020 and TV star Rabiya Mateo, YouTuber-turned-actress Ivana Alawi and 2016 Miss International and movie star Kylie Versoza — made sure they were all present and dazzling for the special occasion as they modeled the most intricate diamond necklaces and major-carat diamond rings for all to see.
Mateo had the most dazzling news to share among the three precious beauties as she talked about going beyond being a celebrity ambassador for LVNA. She excitedly announced in this interview that she is investing in the young but highly successful jewelry label's ongoing plans to open a branch in New York City by October 2023.
With LVNA president Dane Ibay by her side, Mateo related, “LVNA has been very generous to many celebrities, myself included. That's how kind-hearted Dana and Drake are — they lend us millions of pesos worth of jewelry so we can feel more confident and look stunning during our special occasions.”
Impressed by the young entrepreneur and designer siblings' ability to turn their jewelry venture into an industry leader and top earner in so short a time, Mateo felt compelled to go into business with them, believing in their business philosophy, genuine products and fair practices.
Looking forward to flying to New York for the grand opening of their partnership's new venture, Mateo detailed, “Drake mentioned that he would be heading there in July. He will explore the area to see what else we can do to improve our plans. So, for the next three months, he will be the one traveling to start with.”
Asked why Dustin chose the Big Apple to be the label's first foreign location, Dane replied, “New York City is Drake's second home. It's where he studied and started his photography career.”
Clearly amazed by the man's multi-faceted artistry, Mateo stepped in and chatted, “I didn't know Drake was a fashion photographer for magazines in New York until recently. But when I competed in Miss Universe, he flew to Florida just to support me. He lent me jewelry worth millions, and there was a time I almost lost them!”
Also spotted at the Shangri-La opening were 2016 Miss Grand International First Runner-up Nicole Cordoves, movie theme song queen Angeline Quinto and the Ibays' good friends and fellow pageant aficionados Andre and Mags Cue.
LVNA by Drake Dustin at Shangri-La Mall's 5th floor East Wing is the brand's seventh boutique location to date, along with The Peninsula Manila, Estancia Mall at Capitol Commons, Ayala Mall Cloverleaf, Uptown BGC, Molito Alabang and Il Terazo in Quezon City.
