Evan Nelle glad to have Kitty Duterte by his side in UAAP title run

La Salle graduating star Evan Nelle ended his collegiate career the way he started it — a champion.

The 24-year-old guard capped his three-season UAAP stint in the best way possible, helping the Green Archers clinch their 10th title after taking down University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons, 73-69, in Game 3 of their Finals duel in the Season 86 men’s tournament on Wednesday, Dec. 6, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Not only did the record-breaking 25,192 basketball crowd witness La Salle’s first win in seven years, but also the special moment between Nelle and former President Rodrigo Duterte’s daughter, Kitty Duterte at the end of the final buzzer inside the court.

Nelle and the 19-year-old was spotted hugging in the sea of celebration after having been seen together in public and on their social media posts for the past couple of months.

“I think she knew how much I wanted this. I’ll just leave it at that,” Nelle simply said.

Additionally, the younger Duterte has been in attendance during La Salle games in the elimination round.

Back in October, Nelle was even seen spending time with Duterte and Senator Bong Go, which the latter shared on social media.

Although the pair has been seemingly trying to keep the relationship lowkey, their special on-court moment drew attention.
