No diss to the dashing and elegant gents that walked The ABS-CBN Ball red carpet on Saturday night, but the female Kapamilya stars stole the show with their sultry and sophisticated looks.
“A Very Good Girl” star Kathryn Bernardo was the talk of town with her bejeweled Mark Bumgarner creation that highlighted her toned body.
Kim Chiu was daring but still dignified in a sheer and sparkly Francis Libiran creation.
Lovi Poe and Julia Barretto did not also shy in showcasing their toned abs with their midriff cutout gowns. Poe was a vision in her green Patty Ang creation while Barretto kept it minimal with a classic black from YSL.
Equally-stunning was Andrea Brillantes who wore a crystal-crusted red Michael Leyva gown.
Toning it down but still bringing out the sexy glam were Judy Ann Santos in her arm-bearing asymmetrical Rajo Laurel gown; and Jodi Sta. Maria in her halter-neck, back-bearing white Puey Quiñones column gown.
New generation drama actresses Belle Mariano and Francine Diaz likewise sparkled with their shimmering ensemble that showed some skin but still kept their overall look sweet and demure. Mariano was a vision in her champagne Michael Leyva gown, while Diaz exuded grace in her beaded Val Taguba gown.
The first ABS-CBN Ball since 2019, the event also marked an unprecedented moment for the network. ABS-CBN has been partnering with different streaming platforms, video sharing sites, and TV channels TV5 and GMA to distribute content since its franchise denial in 2020. Hence, it's theme “Forever Grateful,” was a perfect fit.
In a grand display of support, celebrities and executives of ABS-CBN partners showed up at the ball.
No less than GMA's Chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon and his daughter — GMA Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide and Support Group, and President and CEO of GMA Films — Annette Gozon-Valdes, walked the ABS-CBN red carpet.
Last July, ABS-CBN bosses Carlo Katigbak and Cory Vidanes also supported the GMA Network's grand gala.
With head honchos from the erstwhile rival networks publicly showing their support, the ABS-CBN Ball could be an affirmation that the so-called network war is truly over.
