Grab, Maya link for ride, delivery payments

Digital banking processor Maya and multiservice transport platform Grab Philippines have sealed a partnership to allow seamless cross-app transactions for its users.

Through the collaboration, Maya users can link their accounts to Grab using their mobile number to make direct transactions with no transfer fees.

Grab Financial Group Philippines Country Head Martha Borja said that Grab is “fully committed to championing the widespread adoption of cashless transactions in the Philippines”, enabling varied end-to-end consumer experiences.

“As we stride forward towards a cash-light society, we’re not just transforming the financial landscape, but also making it more accessible, scalable, and secured,” she added.

Meanwhile, Maya Group President and Co-Founder of Maya Bank Shailesh Baidwan remarked that their alliance with Grab will “allow us to extend our comprehensive financial services to more Filipinos.”

“We are committed to providing exceptional value through our offerings, and this collaboration is a testament to our vision for a progressive financial ecosystem through all-in-one digital banking,” Baidwan added.

According to the bank, Maya users can increase their Maya Savings interest rate for up to 14 percent credited daily per Grab transaction.

The holiday promo also offers users up to P5,000 cashback in Grab until December this year for payments made via Maya.

Currently, Maya cards can be connected to the Grab app, with guaranteed transfers between Maya and Grab wallets.

Grab and Maya emphasized the safety and security of their systems with their continuous development of new technological and service solutions not just in the country, but within Southeast Asia.
