Gun-toting PCG member nabbed in Cebu

CEBU CITY – A member of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) was arrested after he allegedly pointed a gun to a man in Oslob town, southern Cebu, on Friday, November 10.

A .45 caliber pistol with an expired license was recovered from Niño Jade Diaz Culanag.

Police said Culanag will be charged with grave threat after he poked a gun to a civilian outside a convenience store in Barangay Poblacion past 1 a.m.

The 19-year-old complainant, Mike Adong, said he and his friends were eating outside the convenience store when the suspect arrived.

Adong said the suspect confronted them when they allegedly looked at him. He said Culanag drew a gun and pointed it at him.

The suspect left aboard a motorcycle while Adong went to the police station to report the incident.

Police spotted the suspect at around 4 a.m. sitting on a motorcycle parked by the road. Culanag was caught with a gun tucked in his waist.
