House of Representatives’ website hacked

The website of the House of Representatives was hacked on Sunday, October 15, 2023 by a group called 3MUSKETEERZ.

A picture of a troll was displayed in the photo journal section of the website.

The press releases and committee schedules on the website were also altered.

The House of Representatives said it is working with other agencies to investigate the incident.

“Immediate steps have been taken to address the issue, and we are working closely with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center and law enforcement agencies concerned to investigate the matter,” House Secretary General Reginald Velasco said in a statement.

“While we work to restore the website fully, we ask for patience and understanding,” he added.

“For the moment, we advise the public to be cautious of any suspicious emails or communications that claim to be from the House of Representatives,” he said.
