It’s raining blessings for Vice Ganda

Blessings are showing no signs of slowing down over the country's “Unkabogable Star” Vice Ganda. After her jam-packed shows abroad and sold-out “Your Memejesty Concert” at the Araneta Coliseum in June, Vice Ganda's career has seen a consistent upward trajectory.

Just last August 24, his community singing game show “Everybody, Sing!” reaped international recognition after it took home the Best Original Game Show plum at the ContentAsia Awards 2023 held in Bangkok, Thailand.

This citation adds to the already remarkable track record of the show when Vice Ganda won the Best Lifestyle, Entertainment Presenter at the Asian Academy Creative Awards in 2021. This was also followed by a nomination at the Venice TV Awards in Italy that same year where it got a nod in the Light Entertainment category, alongside shows from the UK, Brazil, Japan, and Qatar.

In his Instagram live after the awarding ceremony of the ContentAsia Awards 2023, Vice Ganda expressed his gratitude saying in the vernacular, “Look at that, when it rains, it pours. So many good news. The success of 'Everybody, Sing!' is truly remarkable, winning and being nominated for numerous international awards. I'm just so happy. There are so many winning moments.”

An ABS-CBN original format, “Everybody Sing” premiered in June 2021 with players who make up the “songbayanan” and guess the lyrics of the songs in five game categories. It has an initial purpose of paying tribute to communities of heroes by featuring them as the players so viewers learn more about their inspiring stories. The show gives them a chance to win cash prizes up to P500,000. Now on its third season, “Everybody, Sing!” improved the jackpot prize to P2 million for players from different walks of life and increased the number of “Songbayanan” to 100 people.

In an interview with the press, Vice Ganda recalled, “When we started 'Everybody Sing,' it was just for 13 weeks. Then when we paused and when the management talked to me, they said we needed to continue this because for now, due to the limited production capacity of ABS-CBN, they said this is the remaining entertainment and public service we have.”

“Because aside from bringing joy, it's also helping our fellow countrymen, which is why we need to continue it, so we proceeded. So aside from bringing happiness, we are also helping a lot. We're able to bring smiles, provide hope, and give joy,” he added.

Joining the Shopee family

Aside from “Everybody Sing,” Vice Ganda continues to deliver happiness to millions of Filipinos as e-commerce platform Shopee proudly welcomes him as the newest brand ambassador. The multi-talented comedy icon will serve as the face of their campaigns and community initiatives, amplifying the platform's promise of giving users delightful shopping experiences.

“We are thrilled to welcome Vice Ganda into the Shopee family. Her infectious energy, effortless wit, and vibrant personality make her the perfect fit for Shopee. With her popularity among people across all ages and from all walks of life, we look forward to bringing joy and delight to even more Filipinos,” shared Vincent Lee, head of Shopee Philippines.

Asked why she agreed to be the face of the brand, Vice Ganda said, “It's like it's not even difficult to decide when Shopee offers you to be their brand ambassador. Would you still need to think about it? It's a no-brainer. Shopee is a big and reputable brand, trusted by many Filipinos, and one of the services they provide – aside from products – is the happiness they impart to all their app users. Especially during the pandemic where many people included them in their survival through the pandemic. Their interactions with Shopee, their orders – every time they receive a delivery from Shopee, they escape from stress, they feel happy, just like Shopee, and that's also my intention.”

“Many people have been provided with jobs, services, and a lot of joy by Shopee, and that's exactly what I want too – to make more people happy. So, being offered by them wasn't a big dilemma for me. My goodness, I got a bit shaky. 'Come on, when do we sign the contract? When are we shooting the TVC? How many years is it?'” the ever fun and quirky celebrity added.

9.9 Super Shopping Day

Aside from adding Vice Ganda to their family, Shopee gives Filipinos plenty to look forward to as this year's 9.9 Super Shopping Day promises to be bigger, better, and more rewarding than ever.

They will be introducing more entertainment with Shopee Live and shopping delights such as 70-percent off, free shipping everyday, and fashion and beauty extravaganza.

In addition to these enticing deals, users can expect to enjoy discounts from prominent fashion and brands like: Vice Cosmetics, Mikana, Shigetsu, Inspi, Penshoppe, Oxgn, Regatta, Havaianas, Bench, Keds, and Crocs. They can also look forward to more exciting promos from tech brands such as vivo, GameXtreme, Aukey, Tecno, itel, Platinum Karaoke, and Oppo, as well as healthcare products from GSK.

Meanwhile, the platform continues to bring joy to the Filipino community as it kicks off the highly-anticipated shopping season with more fun and entertainment for users, a wide assortment of unbeatable deals, and a commitment to digitize Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the nation through its partnership with the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP).

The partnership starts with the training and onboarding of entrepreneurs in Quirino province, led by LPP National Chairman and Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo “Dax” Cua. Shopee provided seller training workshops, educational resources, and onboarding support for sellers of Quirino-made products, such as coffee, chocolates, ginger and turmeric tea, as well as home decor.

Governor Cua expressed his excitement and optimism, “Our provinces are rich with talent and unique products. This partnership with Shopee will help our local entrepreneurs connect with a wider market, learn valuable digital skills, and ultimately improve their livelihoods. We are also excited to give Shopee users access to the wealth of products the Philippines has to offer.”
