Ivana Alawi, still an ABS-CBN princess

Actress and social media sensation Ivana Alawi looked every bit like a modern princess when she renewed her exclusive network contract with ABS-CBN this week.

Actress and social media sensation Ivana Alawi

All dressed in white with a sweet and sexy off-the-shoulder lace cropped top, silken long pants and a large bow on her hair to complete the fairy tale look, she could have well been on the set of a live-action Disney Princess movie that day, styled to perfection.

Instead, she had to take her place at the center of a long table filled with ABS-CBN's top executives, eager to sign real-world big-girl documents that, for her career, are simply magical too.

Alawi looked enchanting at the specially-mounted contract signing media event this week.

Official business out of the way, Ivana sat down on her princess chair with a dazzling smile and a heart full of gratitude.

Speaking with industry insiders, she said, “I feel so happy, and I feel so blessed to be here where I'm supposed to be.”

Explaining why, the 26-year old acknowledged that it was ABS-CBN that genuinely trusted with a lead in a major drama series — the highly successful “A Family Affair” — as well as equal billing with the network's biggest star, Vice Ganda, in the box office comedy, “Partners In Crime.”

These two vehicles — not to mention the pivotal spots she received for “Mea Culpa: Sino Ang May Sala” and “FPJ's Ang Probinsyano” — legitimized Ivana's foray into show business from her widely followed YouTube channel. She was even cited as Best New Female TV Personality at the Star Awards for Movie, surprising and impressing critics with her innate acting skills.

Telling The Manila Times Entertainment she would love to do a children's show, given her princess looks, within seconds of confirming she is willing to keep her daring image if a project calls for it, Ivana's hundred percent enthusiasm to further her TV career was undeniable.

Unable to reveal details of what the network has lined up for her, she guaranteed, “We're doing teleseryes this year and movies too, so there's something for everyone to look forward to.”

As of late, ABS-CBN has not mounted such a lavish setup as Ivana's for celebrity contract signings. Streamed live across the network's social media sites, too, and attended by ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez, President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO of Broadcast Cory Vidnes, and Head of TV Production and Star Magic Laurenti Dyogi, along with in-house talent manager Alan Real and lead agent Perry Lansigan, it was clear as day that the reigning queen of social media is also considered royalty by the Kapamilya family.

All fanfare aside, what's more important for the multi-platform star's legions of followers worldwide with this latest development is simply knowing that their beloved Ivana Alawi is truly committed to entertaining them beyond her addictive vlogs.
