This, after Mojdeh set a new Philippine junior national record time of 2:15.86 in the 9th Junior Worlds women's 200m butterfly in Netanya, Israel on Tuesday, September 5.

In the process, Mojdeh beat the qualifying time – B (QTB) of 2:17.63.

“I am so happy breaking a PH record and lowering my time. I have been manifesting to get this time for so long. I got inspired by my Bellevue teammate, Clare Watson who swims for Canada. She swam in the earlier heat and I watched her as she lowered her time by three seconds and she qualified in the finals. I was training with her this entire summer. So I was motivated by her. As well as coach Abi Liu,” said Mojdeh.

“I also put into mind what coach Sherwyn (Santiago) told me when I was training in Clark upon my arrival from America. He told me to extend my stroke when I feel like I am dying so that my head won't go up that will create a drag and slow me down. So I did and it worked,” she added.

Mojdeh's campaign in the tournament isn't over yet, though.

At press time, Mojdeh was competing in the heats of 100m breaststroke and 4×100 mixed freestyle relay on Wednesday.

Mojdeh is also set to compete in the 200m individual medley on Thursday and 100m butterfly on Friday.

The 17-year-old from Brent International School then wraps her campaign in the 200m breaststroke.

“Thanks to everyone who cheered for me and prayed for me. To all my coaches. To my parents. Para sa Pilipinas,” Mojdeh said.
