Marcos OK after plane encounters technical glitch – Palace

THE plane carrying President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and his party encountered technical problems, forcing a return to Villamor Airbase in Pasay City where they boarded another plane, Malacañang said on Wednesday.

The President flew to South Cotabato to attend the launch of the South Cotabato Consolidated Rice Production and Mechanization on Wednesday morning.

He also led the launch of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo program, and the distribution of government aid and launching of a job fair in the province.

In his speech, the President apologized for the hours-long delay in his attendance at the event.

Marcos and his delegation were scheduled to arrive in South Cotabato at 9 a.m., but the event started shortly before 12 noon.

Marcos, who is also the concurrent Agriculture secretary, then reaffirmed his administration's commitment to attain food security and self-sufficiency in the Philippines, which he said, was one of the reasons why he led the launch of South Cotabato's integrated rice processing center.
