Marcos said this ahead of the Christmas celebration on Monday, Dec. 25.

In a video uploaded to his social media accounts on Saturday, Dec. 24, the President urged Filipinos to be grateful as they look back at all their blessings over the past year.

“Sa panahong ito, ramdam na ramdam natin ang lahat ng mga biyaya at bunga ng ating pagsisikap mula sa nakaraang taon (This season, we really feel the blessings and the fruits of our labor this past year),” he said.

“Lagi po tayong magpasalamat sa Poong Maykapal sa lahat ng kabutihan na ipinagkaloob sa atin (Let us always thank God for all the kindness showered upon us),” he added.

Marcos asked Filipinos to put the Christmas spirit into practice as the country moves toward a prosperous future.

“Nawa’y isabuhay din natin ang tunay na diwa ng Pasko sa pamamagitan ng pag-unawa, pakalinga, at pagtulong sa kapwa (I hope that we put into practice the true spirit of Christmas through understanding, caring, and helping our fellowmen),” he said.

“Sa pamamagitan nito, tayo ay nagsisilbing parol na siyang nagbibigay ng sigla, kulay, at liwanag sa buhay ng bawat isa tungo sa mas maunlad na Bagong Pilipinas (When we do this, we become the Christmas lantern that give joy, color, and light on the lives of others toward a more prosperous New Philippines),” he added.

The President asked the public to open their hearts and share the Christmas spirit with those in need.

“Buksan po natin ang ating mga puso at ang mga tahanan upang maipadama natin ang pagmamahal at saya sa ating mga kababayan, lalong-lalo na sa lubos na nangangailangan (Let us open our hearts and homes so we can share th efeeling of love and joy to others, especially those in need),” he said.
