PRESIDENT Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Sunday reiterated his administration's support for the Philippine Army's Special Forces Regiment (Airborne) operations, noting how its “unconventional warfare strategy has become all the more relevant and significant in view of the complex threats our nation now faces.”

Speaking at the SFR(A)'s 61st founding anniversary held in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, the Commander-in-Chief guaranteed his “unassailable commitment” to its capability building as well as the welfare of the troopers' families.

“We are grateful to have witnessed the efforts that leveraged your expertise and demonstrate the core principles in the performance of your duties,” he said.

“May you all continue to train and empower yourselves in maintaining your standing as experts of unconventional warfare strategies,” he added.

Interestingly, Marcos is a qualified Special Forces operator having trained with the SFR(A) in his younger days.
