Wilcon Depot’s visionary founder and chairman emeritus William Belo was bestowed with an honorary doctorate degree in Commerce, honoris causa, at the Dr. Robert Sy Grand Ballroom of the Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. Building in University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Manila. Dr. Belo, a Thomasian alumnus, transformed a humble 60-square-meter hardware store into the Philippines’ foremost home improvement and construction supply retailer. His remarkable leadership not only revolutionized industries but also left an indelible mark on the nation’s business landscape.
