OPPO unveils Find N3 Flip, a flip phone with a vertical cover screen and a flagship triple camera system

The Find N3 Flip has a 6.8-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED main screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It also has a 3.26-inch AMOLED cover screen that displays notifications, quick toggles, and mini apps. The cover screen also enables full-screen selfies and FlexForm capture modes.

The Find N3 Flip by OPPO has set new milestones in the flip phone category by introducing several innovative camera features. The device boasts the first flagship triple camera on a flip phone, including the first telephoto camera, and is the first of its kind to have such large camera sensors.

The 50MP primary camera, featuring the Sony IMX890 sensor and an f/1.8 aperture lens, offers approximately 30% larger dimensions than its competitors in the flip phone segment. This upgraded system ensures impressive performance even in challenging environments, producing vibrant colors, precise details, and a comprehensive dynamic range.

The 48MP ultra-wide camera, boasting a 115-degree field of view, significantly outpaces other flip phones in terms of sensor size. OPPO’s inclusion of autofocus allows users to capture detailed macro photos, even from a proximity as close as 4cm. The superior sensor size facilitates better shadow details, a more comprehensive dynamic range, and reduced noise, especially in darker areas.

Unique to the Find N3 Flip, the flip phone features optical zoom with its 32MP portrait camera. This high-resolution camera offers virtually lossless hybrid zooming of up to five times, marking the introduction of a truly versatile camera system for flip phones. This camera excels in capturing subjects with a natural appearance, especially under low light conditions, managing noise and detailing exceptionally well.

Selfie enthusiasts can preview their shots on the phone’s cover screen, and the hands-free feature enables users to snap photos by merely showing their palms. When partially folded, the Find N3 Flip activates its FlexForm Mode, dividing the screen to display the preview on top and camera controls at the bottom. This feature is ideal for stable, tripod-like shots.

In addition to these features, the Find N3 Flip continues to offer modes like waist-level capture, FlexForm time-lapse, and others previously introduced in the Find N2 Flip model.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset, a 4nm octa-core processor with a peak frequency of 3.05GHz. It also has 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The phone runs on Android 13 with ColorOS 13.2. The advanced MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset ensures top-notch performance across all tasks. The device offers seamless and efficient operations, whether users are toggling between applications, engaging in high-end gaming, or editing 4K video footage. Additionally, the integrated Gaming Tools feature allows players to access walkthroughs or enhance game performance without pausing their games — a simple edge-swipe is all that’s needed to improve the gaming experience.

The Find N3 Flip is designed for longevity. Alongside its IPX4 ensuring resilience against common splashes such as rain or accidental drink spills, the device incorporates new dual-friction plates to provide a consistent glide across its movement range. Its durability is enhanced by a 25% increase in load-bearing strength, credited to its unique core made from aircraft-grade stainless steel.

The 4300mAh battery supports 44W SUPERVOOC fast charging, which can charge the phone from 0% to 50% in 23 minutes. It also supports reverse-wired charging. The phone has dual speakers, Dolby Atmos, 5G connectivity, NFC, and a fingerprint scanner.

The Find N3 Flip comes in three colours: Cream Gold, Misty Pink, and Sleek Black. The phone is expected to be available in the Philippines soon.

The Find N3 Flip is the successor of the Find N2 Flip, which was launched last year with the largest cover screen of any flip phone. The Find N3 Flip builds on the powerful vertical cover screen experiences pioneered by Find N2 Flip and adds support for third-party apps, interactive pets, and weather wallpaper.

The Find N3 Flip also features an improved Flexion Hinge. This updated hinge maintains the parallel gapless design first seen in Find N2 Flip, resulting in a hinge with no gaps. Furthermore, the device has received the TÜV Rheinland Reliable Folding certification, proving its ability to endure 600,000 folds. This is comparable to over 16 years of usage, assuming a user folds the phone 100 times daily.
