The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has provided assistance to over 600 individuals during the Traslacion 2024 on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
As of 4 p.m., the PRC summary of assistance updates showed that 608 individuals needed assistance.
PRC volunteers checked the vital signs of 257 individuals.
Volunteers also responded to 183 minor cases including patients with abrasion, burn, dizziness, puncture, laceration, difficulty in breathing, chest pain, hyperventilation, wound, headache, elevated blood pressure, and infected wound.
PRC personnel also attended to six major cases which included individuals with head trauma (swelling), laceration, incision, fainting, severe chest pain, suspected fracture on the left ankle.
A total of 23 individuals were also transported to PRC’s Emergency Field Hospital (EHF) and the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
The 19 individuals who were transported to EFH reported fever, cough, dizziness, body weakness, vomiting, ankle sprain, chest pain, and numbness.
Nine patients were transported to a medical facility due to abdominal pain (pregnant) and 2nd-degree burns.
PRC also provided welfare assistance to nine individuals: psychosocial first aid (4), tracing (3), and referral (2).
A total of 125 individual responders were also given hot meals.
To assist individuals during the Traslacion 2024, the PRC has set up 10 First Aid Stations; 10 welfare desks; and one EFH.
There were also 18 ambulances; a fire truck, a food truck, and a rescue boat.
Currently, the PRC has mobilized more than 1,000 PRC staff and volunteers for this year’s Traslacion.
