P30.39B worth of dangerous drugs, chemicals, lab equipment seized from July ’22 to Nov. ’23

A total of P30.39 billion worth of dangerous drugs, laboratory equipment and controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPECS) were seized by anti-narcotics authorities from July 1, 2022 to Nov. 30, 2023, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Friday, Dec. 22.

In the national anti-drug campaign, the PDEA stated that 4,120.52 kilograms (kgs) of shabu, 48.02 kgs of cocaine, 54,012 pieces of ecstasy and 3,106.24 kgs of marijuana were confiscated in the 52,966 anti-illegal drug operations during the period.

Out of these anti-illegal drug operations, authorities arrested 72,676 drug personalities with 4,937 being identified as high-value targets (HVT).

In the said period, 811 drug dens and one clandestine laboratory were dismantled.

The PDEA report noted that 27,968 barangays are now drug-cleared while 7,543 barangays remain drug-affected.

Drug-cleared barangay refers to the barangay that is previously classified as a drug affected and underwent Barangay Drug-Clearing Program (BDCP) and declared as drug-cleared by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC).
