The Philippine women’s softball team climbed up in the latest standings of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) which was released last Sunday, Dec. 31.
The Blu Girls jumped 17 places and are now at No. 14 with 868 points, which, according to the WBSC, was the highest improvement from any country last year.
“The Philippines [has] been the most improved nation, climbing 17 positions from No. 31 at the beginning of the year to No. 14 at the end,” WBSC stated on its website.
The Nationals are now ahead of China (845), Peru (827), Venezuela (814), Israel (725), Germany (646) and France (624).
USA is still on top for three consecutive years with 4,301 points, followed by Japan (2,899), Puerto Rico (2,875), Chinese Taipei (2573) and Canada (1885). Italy (1,816), Mexico (1717), the Netherlands (1602), Czech Republic (1483) and Australia (1379) were in the top 10 as well.
