Pia Ildefonso leaves Ateneo, joins Farm Fresh in PVL

Pia Ildefonso will no longer return for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP.

Ildefonso decided to turn professional as she joined the new Premier Volleyball League (PVL) team Farm Fresh Foxies, the team announced on Saturday, June 10 over their social media pages.

“This one wants to rediscover her love for volleyball and Farm Fresh is ready to guide her through the process,” Farm Fresh captioned the video that saw Ildefonso training in Foxies warmer jersey.

“Together, we will reignite that fire. Welcome your newest Foxy, Pia Ildefonso!”

Ildefonso, who plays the middle blocker position, played one year only for Ateneo, seeing limited action for the Blue Eagles in Season 84 where the school placed third.

Ildefonso played beach volleyball in Season 85 but sat down the indoor tournament to 'face, fight, and grow through life's battles outside the sport I love most', per her Instagram post last January.

Now, Ildefonso said she wants to start fresh.

“I just wanted a fresh start and what better way to have that than join a team na nasa pangalan na ang fresh. Right now, I'm just someone who wants to learn more about the sport from one of the best coaches in the country,” said Ildefonso, alluding to Farm Fresh coach Jerry Yee.

“I want to fall back in love with the sport and through the help of my lovely teammates who are very talented, I hope to get there with hard work and passion. Sobrang daming kailangan matutunan lalo na from the veterans in the team and that excites me.”

Ildefonso will join the core of the CSB Lady Blazers in Farm Fresh.
