A Filipino and his dog, a male Pembroke Welsh Corgi, took home the top prize and stole the spotlight in the recent World Dog Show held in Geneva, Switzerland.

In a post he shared on his Facebook, furparent Wency Villanueva expressed his joy for his dog Dalbong’s achievement.

“I am delighted to announce that Dalbong has obtained his World Winner title along with becoming the SWISS CHAMPION. I am immensely proud of you, my son, Dalbong!” wrote Villanueva, who is also a digital content creator.

Dalbong, whose real name is Eastern Promise of Hamarang, bested 131 beautiful corgis, 1,592 herding dogs, and 55 herding dogs and made it to the final cut of the group competition.

Villanueva also shared his and Dalbong’s win with all his fellow dog owners and left a piece of advice.

“This win is not just for us, but for all my fellow exhibitors who dream of becoming world champions one day. Never lose faith in yourself and always believe in your dog. If you think your dog has what it takes, keep pushing forward! Never give up and love your passion until you achieve success,” he added.
