PLDT gains advanced cybersecurity service status

As it continues to develop its cybersecurity infrastructure, PLDT Enterprise has earned the status of an Advanced Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) partner with its specialization in Fortinet’s cloud-based, secure software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN).

According to the firm, PLDT Inc. is the first telecommunication company in the Philippines to secure the SD-WAN specialization.

Through the Secure SD-WAN technology, it is able to provide networking solutions, that are secure, primarily to its business enterprise clients and partners as business operations and data storage gradually rely on cloud technology.

PLDT will receive operational support from Fortinet, which has Network Security Expert (NSE) certifications in managing SD-WAN technologies.

PLDT and Smart First Vice President and Head of Enterprise and International Business Groups Mitch Locsin said the recognition “brings immense benefit to our customers as it bolsters our capability to provide cutting-edge security and SD-WAN solutions.”

“These solutions are pivotal in today’s digital landscape, where remote work, cloud computing, and secure connectivity are paramount in helping our customers realize their visions in their own transformational digital roadmaps,” he added.

PLDT and Fortinet have been collaborating on SD-WAN-related projects to deliver new technologies and management of SD-WAN solutions since 2019.

The recognition is part of PLDT’s “aspirational multi-year transformation, with elevating customer experience as one of the key priorities,” said the firm.
