Profiles Asia Magazine celebrated its anniversary awards night at the Centennial Hall of the Manila Hotel – an evening filled with stars and stories that would inspire generations to come.

For over a decade, Profiles Asia Magazine has been synonymous with excellence in profiling outstanding individuals and their achievements. On this momentous occasion, the magazine not only looked back at its rich history but also heralded a new era of inspiration.

The anniversary night, a gala of elegance and grace, was a tribute to 24 remarkable individuals who have not only excelled in their respective fields but have also left an indelible mark on society. These awardees received accolades that reflected their unwavering commitment, dedication, and the profound impact they have made. From Dr. Raul Bañares Guanzon's lifetime achievement in cosmetic surgery to Isabel B. Tique's humanitarian excellence, each awardee showcased the diverse tapestry of human achievement.

The enchanting melodies that filled the air throughout the night added an ethereal dimension to the celebration. With the Battig Chamber Orchestra and Choir, an ensemble of renowned singers, including international Soprano Diva Kathy Hipolito Mas and great opera singer Jonathan Badon, multi-talented and multi-awarded artist, Miguel Aguila, actor-singer Raymond Gorospe, WCOPA 2018 grand winner, Arjay Espartero, upcoming artist Jessa Escalante and Sunshine Talauan, the evening was a symphony of talent and passion.

Former Senator and Manila Hotel President, Joey Lina, former Rotary Governor and Rotary International director, Raffy Garcia, along with Bobby Alvarez of Noble Homes Inc, who are not only accomplished singers but also individuals who possess remarkable vocal talents, delivered captivating performances that left the audience spellbound.

The event itself was a gathering of over 300 luminaries from various spheres, including government, business, diplomatic circles, and society figures. Notable figures such as Senator Cynthia Villar, former Ms. International 1964, Gemma Cruz Araneta and former Senator and President of Manila Hotel, Joey Lina, former Cong Amado Bagatsing, graced the occasion alongside New Zealand Ambassador Peter Kell.

PeopleAsia honored its “Women of Style & Substance” 2023 awardees for in a glittering ceremony attended by top diplomats, business leaders and society figures at the Grand Ballroom of Fairmont Makati.

Now on its 18th year, the highly anticipated event was headlined by some of the country's most prominent female figures in the fields of diplomacy, entertainment, business, sports and advocacy work, to name a few.

As PeopleAsia editor-in-chief Joanne Rae Ramirez said in her speech, “Ngayong gabi ay parangal sa mga bituing may ningning. Tonight is an homage to stars that shine, and shine bright.” And indeed, stars from various fields and industries went out to shine on the PeopleAsia stage.

Among them are “Women of Style and Substance” awardees US Ambassador MaryKay Carlson, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Media Quest Inc. president and CEO Jane Jimenez-Basas and Miss Universe 2023 Philippines Michelle Marquez Dee.

They were joined by fellow awardees such as Philippine Airlines' AVP and head of Catering Operations Chef Vallerie Castillo-Archer, climate warrior and advocate Mache Torres-Ackerman, Raffles and Fairmont Hotel Manager Aubrey Ada, volleyball stars Tots Carlos and Alyssa Valdez, Luminisce Hollistic Skin Innovations founder Dr. Kaycee Reyes, Aboitiz Group's Chief Reputation & Sustainability Officer Ginggay Hontiveros Malvar, and Converge ICT president and co-founder Maria Grace Uy.

The magazine also recognized its first “Rising Entrepreneur” awardee, Jujuglow founder Acee Sayson-Paita.

Also included in this year's “Women of Style & Substance” list are BlueWater Day Spa's Mary Simisim and Golden Globe and BAFTA-nominated actress Dolly De Leon.

The awardees and guests, who all came in their colorful gowns and formal suits, were also treated to an evening of music, as Jed Madela and The Marcy David Band serenaded the well-heeled crowd. Monaco Consul RJ Ledesma also served as master of ceremonies, while event stylist extraordinaire Dave Sandoval decorated the venue in a flurry of fresh blooms and fall colors.

Prior to the event, PeopleAsia's “Women of Style and Substance” awardees were featured in the magazine's August-September issue, which was sold in select news outlets and online stores.
