PSL Rebuilding Champions Short Course finale set at DPS

The stage is set for the Philippine Swimming League (PSL) Rebuilding Champions Class ABC and Novice Meet Swim Series Short Course Finals slated on Sunday, July 30 at the Diliman Preparatory School swimming pool in Quezon City.

More than 200 tankers from different parts of the country will be gunning for medals and trophies.

Leading the participants are promising tankers from Ntional Capital Region, Luzon and some teams from the Visayas region.

The tournament serves as qualifying for international competitions the PSL will be joining including in Japan, Singapore, Thailand and Hong Kong.

“This event is open to all young and aspiring swimmers who want to be part of the PSL team competing in different international tournaments. We are looking forward to discover more fresh talents,” said PSL President Alex Papa.

Medals are up for grabs in the 6-under, 7-year, 8-year, 9-year, 10-year, 11-year, 12-year, 13-year, 14-year and 15-over for boys and girls with the top tankers in each category will be awarded with the Most Outstanding Swimmer trophies.

“The objective is to identify talents, develop them and hopefully send them in international competitions. We want them to experience this opportunity to represent our and bring honors to our country. We want to develop swimming champions through grassroots development program,” Papa added.

Papa expressed his gratitude to Philippine Swimming Inrocrporated (PSI) secretary general Eric Buhain, and COPA official and Samahang Manlalangoy sa Pilipinas president Chito Rivera for supporting the tournament.

“Thank you Congressman Eric Buhain and Coach Chito Rivera.

I want you to know how much I appreciate your help to PSL. It is rare to find such kind friends in this industry, the ones who you can call at the last minute. With your help we will be able organize our event more effectively,” stressed Papa.
