A division of the Supreme Court has suspended former press secretary Rose Breatrix Cruz-Angeles from her practice of law for six months for violation of the Code of Professional Responsibility.
In an 11-page resolution, dated March 27,2023, the Court Third Division said the suspension of Cruz-Angeles was effective upon her receipt of the resolution.
In the same ruling, the Court also reprimanded Cruz-Angles' co-accused, lawyer Ahmed G. Paglinawan.
They are likewise sternly warned that a repetition of the same or similar act in the future will be dealt with more severely.
“Wherefore, respondents Rose Beatrix Cruz-Angeles and Ahmed G. Paglinawanar are found 'guilty' of violation of Rule 8.01, Canon 8 of three Code of Professional Responsibility,” the resolution read.
