The University of Santo Tomas (UST) has climbed to second best in the Philippines for clinical and health subjects in the 2024 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject.
In a statement from the official publication of the university, “The Varsitarian,” on Oct. 27, UST had made it into the subject rankings for the first time.
UST placed in the 801-1,000 bracket worldwide in the clinical and health category, with an overall score of 17.0-25.1.
It said that the university scored particularly well in research quality with 38.5, international outlook of 70.9, 20.8 in industry, 7.6 in research environment, and 12.3 in teaching.
The university is ranked behind the University of the Philippines (UP), placed in the 501-600 bracket worldwide.
UP has been the country’s top university for clinical and health subjects for the fifth consecutive year, but it fell from the 201-250 global bracket in 2022.
Moreover, the University of Oxford continued to top in the clinical and health area, holding the top spot for the 13th straight year, beating 1,059 ranked universities.
