VIRAL: 6-year-old daughter still updates mom who passed away

Facebook post from Bev Brago, a social media user from Taguig, left netizens teary-eyed. In her post, Bev shared the touching story of her six-year-old niece, Yasha, who continues to send messages to her late mother, Cherry Brago, who passed away in August 2020.

Bev, Cherry’s sister, narrated in her post that Yasha made an effort to update her mom before her 6th birthday.

Alongside a photo of Yasha’s message to Cherry, Bev captioned the post, “Few days before she turned six, she messaged her mom who [had] already passed away.”

The message sent by Yasha through messenger read, “Mama. Ma? 6 na ako mama.”

Bev expressed how heartbreaking it was for her to see one of the messages sent by Yasha.

She wrote, “Sobrang sakit. Ngayon ko lang nakita since hindi ko naman pinapakialaman [ang] messenger niya. She sends a lot of messages to her mom almost every day and waits to see if she will respond. Grabe, noh? Even though alam niyang wala na mama niya, inaantay niya pa rin.”

Bev shared with Manila Bulletin Lifestyle that Yasha and Cherry had a close bond, often playing and strolling around their village together. She described Yasha as an extremely clingy and sweet child to her mom.

“Yung bonding nila is yung maglakad-lakad at pasyal sa village. Si Yasha sobrang clingy talaga at sweet na bata,” she said.

When asked about the cause of Cherry’s death, Bev revealed that it was due to an autoimmune disease called Lupus.

Now, Yasha is happily living with Brago’s family, and her father visits her from time to time.
