Where the ‘Pambansang Ginoo’ David Licauco gets to rest

David Licauco may be one of the busiest leading men today, but when it comes to supporting the reputable wellness center BlueWater Day Spa he always finds time. In fact, at the ribbon-cutting and blessing ceremony of its newest branch in Estancia Mall, Licauco was all smiles together with the center's executives and a growing number of ambassadors.

“I came here despite my busy schedule because I believe in the brand and they've been supporting me since day 1,” television's “Pambansang Ginoo” shared at the sideline of the event on Friday.

Beyond his role as a familiar face for the spa, Licauco proudly identifies as a loyal patron.

“I make it a point to visit BlueWater Day Spa, especially their Banawe branch. They offer this unique experience where you can enjoy a massage while watching a movie — it's the ultimate pampering session for me.

“I often go Sundays, when I don't have work, to get my favorite service, which is the Athlete's Massage,” the actor shared.

One of BlueWater Day Spa's signature services, this massage helps address muscle tension and post-exercise soreness through targeted motion techniques.

“I like that massage because I work out, and now I'm doing a lot of action scenes in 'Maging Sino Ka Man.' So it's perfect.”

Licauco is currently doing the TV remake of the box office Sharon Cuneta-starrer opposite leading lady Barbie Forteza. He will reprise the role of Carding, which actor-turned-senator Robin Padilla first played in 1991.

“It's a different character for me. The action scenes are different. And the way my character talks — fast, a little bit brute — is different from how I naturally talk. But so far I'm enjoying it,” Licauco noted.

To be sure, BlueWater Day Spa is just as elated to see Licauco join other endorsers present at the Estancia opening, including Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados, Miss World Philippines 2021 Tracy Maureen Perez, Miss Grand Philippines 2023 Nikki De Moura, Asia's Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, publicist and producer Arnold Vegafria, singer and talent manager Carlo Orosa, and The Manila Times' President and COO Blanca Mercado.

Another reason for celebration on opening day is that the Estancia Mall branch marks BlueWater Day Spa's first foray into mall-based operations.

“Even before the pandemic, we were already considering opening a mall branch and we feel that Estancia fits into our profile because the mall attracts residents and office workers who could swing by to get services after office hours,” BlueWater Day Spa Operations Manager Nancy Go told The Manila Times.

The Estancia Mall branch offers an extensive range of pampering services, including distinctive massages, non-invasive facial and body treatments, waxing, and hand and foot treatments.

Though the mall branch doesn't have the shower and sauna facilities found in standalone branches, Go assured that top-notch signature services are still in place, if not enhanced.

“During the time we weren't as busy because of the lockdowns and the restrictions brought, we retrained our staff. We checked where we could improve our services, so that's what we are offering now — even better services,” Go promised.

BlueWater Day Spa Estancia Mall Branch is open daily, from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., from Mondays to Sundays. For inquiries and reservations, call 09178810092.

Just before the mall branch's blessing, BlueWater also opened its BGC branch (located on the Ground Floor of The Infinity Tower at 25th Street) to cater to those who live and work in the South. It is open from 3 pm to 12 midnight daily.

Other existing BlueWater Day Spa locations include Banawe in One Banawe Plaza, Mezzanine Floor, Banawe Corner Calamba Street, Quezon City; and Ortigas in Eton Square Ortigas, 425 Ortigas Avenue, San Juan City.

For those seeking specialized skincare services, the brand has introduced a dedicated center — The Skin Elements Face and Body Lounge — located adjacent to BlueWater Day Spa in Eton Square Ortigas. Here, clients can avail of facials and non-invasive skin and slimming treatments until midnight.
